A Night of Champions

A large crowd attended the 25^th Anniversary Dinner Dance and Prize giving of Magherafelt and District Motor Club held at the Greenvale Hotel, Cookstown. This Club is renowned for the support it provides to other Club’s the length and breadth of Ireland in assisting in the running of there events.
The Club was founded in 1979 and after 25 years in existence the attendance, contribution and interest in club affairs is still growing every year 
New initiatives regarding recruitment, manpower and sponsorship have all strengthened the Club’s position over the years.

Each year the Club incorporate fundraising into each event they run and nominate local charities to benefit from this.  In the last 5 years the Club has donated over £30,000 to various local charities. 
 

The Club is proud to have 4 Northern Ireland Rally Champions for the first time in the Clubs History as its members.

Safety is a high priority within this Club and it assists the Safe Driving Committee of Magherafelt in the promotion of their event.
 

Magherafelt and District Motor Club has had its ups and downs over the years.  The high being the only Club from Northern Ireland to ever have won the MSA Club of the Year, the lowest being the tragic death of Shane O’Neill RIP who was a very active Committee member within the Club when he lost his life competing in the sport he loved in 2002.
 

To end with Magherafelt and District Motor Club would like to thank everyone who has supported them financially, physically and emotionally over it’s 25 years in Motorsport.
