SHANE'S RALLYING CAREER

Shane first sat in a competing car at Ballymena Showgrounds with Barry "Den" McKenna in 1995. This was the start of a relatively short, yet disguished rallying career.

He won his very first class award a year later in the same event with Richard Mulholland, competing in the Northern Ireland Championship.

He sat with various drivers over the years that included:-

Eugene Donnelly, on numerous occassions, the most memorable was winning the 2000 Lark in the Park. (Pic Right)

James Gillen, Philip Shaw in Achill Island and due to compete next weekend in Donegal with him again.

No later than last year, when rallying on this island was at a standstill, Shane got the opportunity to compete in an event in America. He booked his leave from work and jumped on a plane to the States to sit with a driver he never had met.

.
Shane has won numerous titles over the years but one of his proudest moments
was being honoured with the Magherafelt and District Motor Club
Navigator of the Year 2000.
